Kerry trained in Theatre, Television and Film at The University of Warwick, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Chelsea College of Art and the National Film and Television School. She is a creative practitioner who has over 20 years experience in all aspects of Theatre Design, as well as designing Exhibitions (most recently buying for a new exhibition at the V&A) and working in Film and Television art departments as Art Director, Production Buyer and Set Dresser (BBC, DNA Films, Warp films, CBBC, Steel Mill Films, Shed TV and Channel 4).
Kerry has designed many old (and new) plays in repertory theatre, fringe and on national tours. She has worked at the Swan Theatre (Worcester), Palace Theatre (Westcliff), Leicester Haymarket, the Royal National Theatre, RADA and Trafalgar Studios, London, as well as with wonderful children’s and community theatres such as Polka theatre, Snap, Pop-Up Theatre and London Bubble. Recent designs include Tui I Teraz (Hampstead Theatre),The Importance of Being Earnest, Equus, Ghosts, Miss Julie and The Beauty Queen of Leenane (all touring productions for London Classic Theatre).
She is also acting Pathway Leader at UAL Wimbledon College of Arts, teaching on the BA (Hons) Set Design for Screen course. She also regularly lectures on the MA Film making course at Goldsmiths University and at Central St. Martins and St. Mary’s University, Twickenham.
She recently created her own production company, Anorak Productions, to make her own short films, collaborating with the poet Aoife Mannix. They are currently creating a multi-media performance and online space based on poems that Aoife has written about having cancer. They are working with a top creative team: TV & Film composer Sandy Nuttgens, website developer Rebekah Ford, producer Sally Beck and visual artist Liz Atkin with support from spoken word company Apples & Snakes.
