Kerry trained in Theatre, Television and Film at The University of Warwick, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Chelsea College of Art and the National Film and Television School. She is a creative practitioner who has over 25 years experience in all aspects of Theatre Design, as well as designing Exhibitions (most recently buying for a new exhibition at the V&A) and working in Film and Television art departments as Art Director, Production Buyer and Set Decorator (UKTV/AMC, BBC, DNA Films, Warp films, CBBC, Steel Mill Films, Shed TV and Channel 4).
She has designed many period (and contemporary) plays in repertory theatre, fringe and on national tours. She has worked at the Swan Theatre (Worcester), Palace Theatre (Westcliff), Leicester Haymarket, the Royal National Theatre, RADA and Trafalgar Studios, London, as well as with wonderful children’s and community theatres such as Polka theatre, Snap, Pop-Up Theatre and London Bubble. Recent designs include Tui I Teraz (Hampstead Theatre), The Importance of Being Earnest, Equus, Ghosts, Miss Julie and The Beauty Queen of Leenane (all touring productions for London Classic Theatre).
Kerry has also been teaching set design in higher education for 19 years. She is currently on a sabbatical after leaving her role as Course Leader on BA (Hons) Set Design for Screen and Production Arts for Screen at Wimbledon College of Arts (UAL), where she gained an outstanding teaching award. They have created a multi-media performance and online space based on poems Aoife wrote about cancer. They worked with a top creative team: TV & Film composer Sandy Nuttgens, website developer Rebekah Ford, producer Sally Beck and visual artist Liz Atkin with support from spoken word company Apples & Snakes.
